We have moved to Avenue des Phalènes 26, 1000 Brussels, and have been open for business there since Monday September 21. The telephone numbers of both the office (02/647 67 80) and Helpline (02/648 40 14) remain the same.

At its Annual General Meeting on 7 May 2015, Geoff Brown was appointed Chairman of the CHS Board of Directors, replacing Rex Parker who will remain on the Board.
Geoff, a native of Northern Ireland, came to Brussels in 1975 at the age of 23 as a newly qualified Chartered Accountant ‘for two or three years’ and has lived here ever since.
The position of clinical director at CHS has been taken by Marie-Thérèse Kastl, following the retirement of Harry Pomerantz. Harry held this leadership role for the past three years and was a member of the adult clinical team for the past nine.
Marie-Thérèse is no stranger to CHS having joined the organisation some eighteen years ago. She works with children and adults and practices family therapy too, both at CHS and in private practice. She was also, for a number of years, one of the professional supervisors for the Help Line, providing regular support to the volunteer team. Without doubt Marie-Thérèse has a thorough understanding of the many facets of CHS. Her aims for the coming years?
The Community Help Service depends on three teams of volunteers who give their time for free: those who act as Board members, those who staff the Help Line and those who run the office. A key role in the office is that of administrator and CHS has recently welcomed Anne Arthur to that position. Anne is British and finds herself in Brussels for family reasons – her daughter and granddaughter live here, so being closer to them was an attractive idea once she retired from full-time work in the UK.
Rex Parker, Chair of CHS, accepted with pleasure a cheque for €8000 at the recent Christmas Cocktail held by the British Chamber and the Brussels British Community Association (BBCA). Thanks are due to the Duchess of Richmond Ball, BBCA and Britcham for this very welcome donation.
