Changes at the Community Help Service

The position of clinical director at CHS has been taken by Marie-Thérèse Kastl, following the retirement of Harry Pomerantz. Harry held this leadership role for the past three years and was a  member of the adult clinical team for the past nine.

Marie-Thérèse is no stranger to CHS having joined the organisation some eighteen years ago. She works with children and adults and practices family therapy too, both at CHS and in private practice.  She was also, for a number of years, one of the professional supervisors for the Help Line, providing regular support to the volunteer team. A New Patron for Community Help Service

CHS is delighted that Alison Rose, the recently appointed  British Ambassador to Belgium has taken on the role of Patron to our organisation. Despite her busy life, with its wide-ranging responsibilities, she has already fulfilled one role on our behalf by acting as the introductory speaker at the CHS Burnout Conference in October.

As an EU specialist Alison is no stranger to Brussels, having previously spent four years here with the UK Permanent Representation to the European Union.  She has also worked in London and Paris and had a spell in the Cabinet Office, during the preparation for and running of the UK Presidency of the EU in 2005.

"Alison has not known us for long but has already shown a keen interest in and commitment to the work that we do, both on the Help Line and at our Mental Health Centre”. Rex Parker, Chair of the CHS Board.
